Seminar Description:

Future of Landscape - Panel Series - Turf in the Landscape

TLE-Anaheim-2024

Industry experts Brandon Burgess from the Chino Basin Water Conservation District, John Basanese of the Santa Clara Valley Water District, and Tom Sweeney, current State President of the CLCA discuss the regulations around Functional and Non-Functional Turf, restrictions and Innovations for Artificial Turf, trends and legislation affecting Potable Water and more in this Panel Discussion at The Landscape Expo!

Living turf has a bright future in the world of landscape but it just won’t be in the traditional sense. To reduce the amount of water used for irrigation, legislators are looking to keep turf purely functional, moving it from commercial and institutional sites to parks, sports fields, residential settings, dog parks, and places of recreation. Join these industry experts as they help you navigate the Future of Turf in the Landscape!

The panel will discuss the differences between functional and non-functional turf, the elimination and replacement of PFAS laced artificial turf, and what systems are available to keep real and artificial turf in the areas most needed and desired.

Learning Objectives:
Learn what functional vs. nonfunctional turf is, what industry leaders see coming in legislation and trends, and the implementation of alternatives.
