Seminar Description:
Sports turf management and installation require planning, maintenance and active care. Various types of turf species and products interact differently based on soil, the environment and equipment utilized during installation and maintenance. Join Wister Dorta as he shares some scenarios of different impacts to turf based on usage and site conditions or limitations. We will share the irrigation methods and products used to better support turf for its site usage in each case. We will briefly review different products used in turf management and how they impact turf blades or roots. We will also discuss options for moisture management in an interactive discussion with fellow professionals.

Bill Blackman
Bill Blackman, with SiteOne, is a seasoned turfgrass industry leader with over three decades of experience. Currently, he is on the PAPA Board of Directors, and is an agronomic advisor and Pest control Advisor (PCA).
He has served on the Boards of Directors for both the California and Southern California Golf Course Superintendents Associations, and was the first voting Commercial Member of CGCSA.
Bill has spoken at national and international conferences, including the GCSAA National Convention, the National Recreation and Parks Association, and the Australian Racecourse Managers Association. He has spoken professionally ten to 14 times for CEU hours and has moderated the National Conference of the NTRA Supt’s Annual Conference. He has also served as Associate Faculty and Program Coordinator at Mt. San Jacinto College, teaching turfgrass science, soil fertility, and pesticide safety.
