Personal protective equipment (PPE) is an essential way to protect yourself when handling pesticides. Understanding the role of PPE and the importance of using the appropriate equipment can help ensure that pesticides are handled in a safe and responsible manner. In this seminar, we will take a closer look at personal protective equipment (PPE) and the different considerations that go along with its use when handling pesticides.
Throughout the seminar, we will look at the various kinds of personal protective equipment (PPE), the differences between them, and the appropriate uses for each. We will also discuss the requirements that apply based on the pesticide label and California law. By reviewing these topics, participants will have an opportunity to better understand how PPE requirements relate to pesticide handling and why following the specified requirements is an important part of working with pesticides.

Edgar Tuna is an Agronomic Engineer and California PCA with experience in nursery and greenhouse production of ornamental crops, including crop management and production. He worked as a Distributor Sales Representative for Nutrien Ag Solutions in Southern California, managing nursery and greenhouse customers, golf courses, and landscape companies. Edgar is currently with Envu as a Nursery and Greenhouse Specialist and Territory Manager for the Western U.S. He lives in Temecula and enjoys surfing and wildlife photography.
