Playground Maintenance Done Right: Protect, Inspect & Document
Learn how to properly maintain playgrounds and park amenities while building a consistent, defensible maintenance program. This compliance-focused session covers asset inventories, routine inspections, documentation, manufacturer communication, proper cleaning practices, and playground surfacing—including impact attenuation and maintenance requirements. Participants will leave with a field-ready inspection checklist and industry resources to help support proper maintenance and documentation.

Kenda Daria
Kenda Daria is a respected leader in the playground and recreation industry with extensive experience in
playground design, construction, cleaning and sanitizing, safety surfacing, compliance, and risk
management. As a licensed general contractor, she brings valuable hands-on construction knowledge
and a practical understanding of how playground and recreation projects move from concept to
completion.
Her career has been built around helping communities create safer, more durable, and more engaging
outdoor environments. Kenda has served on the Board of Directors of the National Playground
Contractors Association and has been heavily involved with ASTM standards and industry initiatives
focused on improving installation quality, safety, and compliance.
Her expertise spans the full life cycle of a playground—from design and construction to cleaning,
maintenance, surfacing, inspection, compliance, and long-term safety management.
Today, as the owner of Liberty Recreation for the Arizona territory, Kenda combines her technical
knowledge, construction experience, and passion for play to help parks, schools, municipalities, landscape
professionals, and communities bring exceptional outdoor spaces to life. Her focus remains simple: creating
places to play that inspire children and communities while ensuring they are built with safety, quality,
compliance, and long-term performance in mind.
