Seminar Description:
In this seminar, Dr. Lydia Tymon will provide an introduction to Turfgrass Diseases, including understanding the Disease Triangle. The conversation will cover cultural practices, fertility, and compost and organic amendments as they relate to disease management. The latter half of the seminar will touch on Turfgrass Disease Symptoms and effective fungicides. The last portion will cover the identification and management of leaf and root diseases.

Dr. Lydia Tymon
UC Cooperative Extension
Dr. Lydia Tymon is the UC Cooperative Extension Environmental Horticulture Advisor for Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. She holds a PhD in plant pathology from Washington State University, where she later led a research and extension program focused on fungal and bacterial pathogens in vegetable and small fruit cropping systems. She was a certified arborist through the PNW chapter of ISA and most recently, she was the Bio R&D Director at Mast Reforestation where she partnered with conifer nurseries and foresters to improve seedling survival in reforested landscapes. Her current work with UCCE focuses on urban forestry and nursery production, with an emphasis on plant health and long-term landscape performance.
