Seminar Description:
Irrigation water is either your landscape's greatest ally or its biggest hidden enemy. In this masterclass, we'll unpack how water quality from reclaimed supplies, recycled sources, and challenging well water drives many of the problems you see across landscapes, parks, and municipal green space. That includes poor soil structure and compaction, weak plant health, reduced fertilizer uptake, and limited water holding capacity.
We'll explore the chemistry behind salinity, sodicity, biofilm, and bicarbonates, and show how these factors quietly undermine soil biology, root development, and the performance of your fertilizer program. Then we'll introduce Rainmaker.Earth's advanced oxidation water optimization system, which can be retrofitted onto virtually any existing irrigation infrastructure to restructure and enhance the chemical makeup of your water. By mimicking the effects of a perfect thunderstorm every time you irrigate, Rainmaker.Earth helps relieve compaction, improve infiltration and water holding capacity, support aerobic soil life, and unlock more efficient nutrient uptake. The result: "problem water" becomes a powerful tool for healthier, more resilient landscapes and parks.
Learning Objectives:
1) Understand how irrigation water quality affects soil structure, plant health, nutrient uptake, and water-holding capacity.
2) Identify the impacts of salinity, sodicity, biofilm, and bicarbonates on soil biology, roots, and fertilizer performance.
3) Learn how advanced oxidation water optimization can improve infiltration, reduce compaction, support soil biology, and increase nutrient efficiency.

Rainmaker.Earth
Kevin Hauschel brings more than 15 years of experience in the golf, turf, and agricultural industries, with a career rooted in land stewardship, science, and performance-driven innovation.
Kevin’s focus at Rainmaker.Earth is focused on helping golf courses, sports field managers, and agricultural producers improve water efficiency, soil health, and long-term sustainability. His approach centers on education, partnership, and practical implementation—supporting clients in running more efficient, resilient, and profitable operations while reducing environmental impact.
Educated at Washington State University, Kevin holds degrees in Integrated Plant Sciences and Viticulture. His professional path began in golf course operations, where he combined agronomic expertise with emerging technology to improve turf health, playability, and resource efficiency. As Golf Course Superintendent at the prestigious Meadow Club, he played a key role in restoring the course’s standing as one of the Top 100 Classic Courses in the United States through a data-driven, technology-enabled approach to turf management.
Kevin later joined Greensight, where he helped scale the company’s commercial agriculture division to $7 million in annual revenue while expanding its national footprint. During this time, he was instrumental in advancing automation, sensor-based monitoring, and robotic mowing solutions across golf, sports turf, and agricultural operations in the U.S.
