Seminar Description:
Attendees will be introduced to hydraulic principles related to irrigation. Gain a basic understanding of flow, pressure and velocity and how they are related. Review friction loss in static and dynamics situations. Attendees will have an opportunity to do hands-on examples. This will not be just a lecture but a chance for attendees to apply the principles learned.
Learning Objectives:
1. Define Hydraulic terminology used in an irrigation system i.e. GPM, PSI and Velocity.
2. Basic understanding of hydraulic related to an irrigation system.
3. Apply Hydraulics correctly in an irrigation system.
Bill Millward
Bill comes to us with 40 years of Landscape experience. He got his start working at a landscape wholesale distributor. During this time, he completed two AS degrees at Cuyamaca College in Horticulture and Irrigation. Then accepted a District Sales Manager position with a major manufacture of irrigation equipment working on the East Coast and then later as Specification Manager in California. He then joined a PVC manufacturing company as a Technical Service Manager. From there 13 years as territory manager for a major manufacturer of drip irrigation equipment in southern California. Most recently, Bill accepted a National Sales Manager position for another irrigation manufacture. For the last 15 years he has also taught Principles of Irrigation Design and Drip Irrigation at Mount San Antonio College. Bill has a BS degree in Landscape Irrigation Science from Cal Poly Pomona.
