Certifications are a great way to elevate your career, and show that you are an industry leader! PGMS offers the Certified Grounds Technician certification for frontline workers and emerging leaders as well as the Certified Grounds Manager program for established managers.



This interactive session will cover both PGMS certifications, their benefits, and how to apply. We will also detail strategies to help attendees be successful in their applications, test preparation, and for the CGM Professional Grounds Manager Evaluation.

Learning Objectives:

Brandon Haley

Brandon Haley, based in Birmingham, AL, is the Vice President of Grounds Management for SSC Services for Education, a nationwide University and K-12 facilities services provider. He is a Certified Grounds Manager through the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) where he also serves as a Director at Large. Brandon has over 26 years in the Green Industry, with leadership experience in golf courses, landscape contracting, and site based operations in corporate and educational settings. His educational background includes a Bachelors in Turfgrass from Clemson University, an MBA from University of Alabama – Birmingham, and a Masters in Environmental Science and Policy from Johns Hopkins University. He has had the honor of being awarded multiple Grand Awards from PGMS, is a Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor, and a published Green Industry author.  His passion for the industry is matched only by his desire to help others grow!
