Seminar Description:
This session will feature two real-world case studies highlighting the successful transition of institutional and private sector operations who have committed to the AGZA Green Zone Certification standards. The certification includes four levels that range from partially or fully phasing out gas powered landscape maintenance operations to employing sustainable best practices, water conservation and efficiency, as well as phasing out conventional integrated pest control by integrating organic products and ecological methodologies.
Learning Objectives:
1.Understand AGZA Green Zone Certification standards, with a focus on low-impact landscape maintenance practices.
2.Gain insights from two successful AGZA Green Zone Certification case studies in both the public and private sectors, including verified data on impact reductions and cost benefits.
3.Learn about the workforce training and equipment requirements that support successful certification implementation.

Dan Mabe – Founder of the American Green Zone Alliance (AGZA), comes from the gas-powered landscape maintenance industry. Seeking a more sustainable way to operate lawn and garden equipment, Dan has devoted nearly sixteen years developing and applying battery technology for the grounds maintenance industry.
To further the acceptance of cleaner battery powered technologies, Dan created and implemented the American Green Zone Alliance “Green Zone” certification program which includes outreach, training, and impact reporting. AGZA works with Cities, Towns, Academia, Landscape Maintenance Companies, Contractors, and Air Quality Management Agencies providing sustainable grounds maintenance education and consultation.
