Native to the Canary Islands, Dragon Tree is often sold as a small houseplant but can eventually grow to the size of a small evergreen tree if given time and space to mature. Forming a fat caudex trunk with succulent branches that end in tufts of sword like foliage. When cut, it oozes dark red sap that looks like dripping dragon blood. Tolerant of salt spray and adaptable to high heat and drought. Dragon Tree requires excellent drainage and will not tolerate wet feet. Typically grows up to one foot per year. Cold hardy to 20-25F.
