TLE-Anaheim-2025

American Society of Irrigation Consultants (ASIC) is pleased to announce that Janet Luehrs will join the exclusive group of professionals recognized as ASIC Fellows. This honor is bestowed upon individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, and commitment to independent irrigation development, design, and management principles. Janet’s induction ceremony will take place during the 2025 ASIC National Conference Awards Banquet on April 15, 2025 in Savannah, Georgia.

Janet’s journey in the landscape and irrigation industry began in 1975 when she and her husband launched a landscape contracting business, which evolved into a landscape design company in 1986. In 1990, she was invited by Ann Runley, owner of Brookwater, to join the company. Although a recession briefly interrupted her career, Janet returned to Brookwater in 1994 and discovered her passion for irrigation design. Eventually, she purchased Brookwater when Ann retired and continued to build her expertise in the field.

Janet joined ASIC in 2010, unaware of the significant role she would come to play within the organization. Starting as a member of the Northern California Chapter, where she still serves as treasurer, she was elected to the National Board of Directors in 2013. Over the years, she has held several leadership positions, including Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, President, and Past President. Janet has also contributed to numerous committees, including Conference, Certification, National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) National Collegiate Landscape Competition, and Nominating, consistently demonstrating her dedication to the Society.

Her career has flourished through her involvement with ASIC. Janet is recognized as a premier irrigation consultant, offering design, project observation, and water management services for a wide range of landscape irrigation projects. Many of her projects have received ASIC Excellence in Irrigation Awards. She holds the titles of Certified Professional Irrigation Consultant (CPIC), Certified Irrigation Designer (CID), and Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA). Janet gives credit to Ann Runley’s mentorship and now mentors her own team of design associates.

ASIC Fellowship is a high honor that is bestowed on only a few of the most deserving candidates, with only 18 individuals receiving this honor over the last 23 years. Fellowship considerations include long-standing service to ASIC; professional and personal conduct that brings credit to the Society; and significant contributions to the industry through organization membership, education, and mentoring.
