Seminar Description:
Respiratory protection is an essential responsibility of employers relating to the Landscape and Grounds Industry. Employers have a responsibility to determine all respiratory hazards in the workplace and determine protection protocols for all of the respiratory hazards. Any time that an employee dons a respiratory protection device, the employer is required ensure that the device is appropriate, that the employee is trained and the device is tested. The employer is also required to ensure that the device is effective in reducing the hazard. This seminar will cover the basic regulatory requirements, common types of respiratory protection devices, testing protocols, medical clearance requirements, and training.

3. Learn how to produce a respiratory protection plan.

Donald Bottger

Currently, Donald is the Director of Venue Operations at the San Diego Convention Center (SDCC) leading four divisions including Cleaning Services, Building Services, Grounds Service and Wardrobe. He manages all Pest Control, Hazardous Waste, Occupational Safety and Sustainability Functions at SDCC. With 40+ years of experience in the Landscaping/Facilities Industry holding various positions including landscape business owner, Grounds Manager, Superintendent of Maintenance, Operations Manager, and Director of Venue Operations Donald is experienced.

He attended SDSU and UCSD in the fields of study of Chemistry, Facilities Management and Occupational Safety and Sustainability. He is also a Holder of the Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health for General Industry From UCSD He served as the Past President in 2012 and Current Vice-President of the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS).
