Seminar Description:
Slips, trips and falls are the second leading cause of occupation deaths in the United States. In 2022, over 800 employees were killed in slip, trip, and fall accidents.



The lack of appropriate fall protection plans were the third highest violation cited by OSHA in 2022. Employers are required to ensure that employees work in a safe manner when it comes to all occupation Hazards. Employers are required to assess fall hazards, determine appropriate protective measures, develop a fall protection program and train all pertinent employees on all aspects of the plan.



This seminar will cover the basic regulatory requirements, common safety equipment and training protocols to enhance safety in the workplace from fall protection hazards.

Donald Bottger

Currently, Donald is the Director of Venue Operations at the San Diego Convention Center (SDCC) leading four divisions including Cleaning Services, Building Services, Grounds Service and Wardrobe. He manages all Pest Control, Hazardous Waste, Occupational Safety and Sustainability Functions at SDCC. With 40+ years of experience in the Landscaping/Facilities Industry holding various positions including landscape business owner, Grounds Manager, Superintendent of Maintenance, Operations Manager, and Director of Venue Operations Donald is experienced.

He attended SDSU and UCSD in the fields of study of Chemistry, Facilities Management and Occupational Safety and Sustainability. He is also a Holder of the Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health for General Industry From UCSD He served as the Past President in 2012 and Current Vice-President of the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS).
