Learn how one campus provided metrics and spreadsheets to clearly show the full time employee needs using a thorough landscape inventory and modified APPA levels and factors.

CAD programs and GIS were used to develop an extensive landscape inventory for a 1,380 acre campus. Areas were broken out into maintenance levels and knowledge of past maintenance hours to determine staffing needs and to define maintenance expectations.

Brooke Sammons
Brooke Sammons is an experienced licensed Landscape Architect with the Purdue University Grounds Department. She has over 15 years of experience in Campus Planning and Landscape Architecture at the University. In her position with the University Brooke has made it a priority to ensure all campus landscapes are designed for safety and security along with promoting the health and beauty of the campus for its users. Brooke graduated from the Ball State University, with a BS from the College of Architecture and Planning. Prior to her role with Purdue University, Brooke worked in California in the private sector designing parks, apartment communities, and resort style community centers.
