Our urban trees are under pressure from pests, disease, environmental effects, and construction activities. This course will help assist attendees in the basics of plant health care for trees in the urban setting. An emphasis of discussion will be on pest/disease prevention and monitoring, tree care best management practices and standards, and how proper landscape planning and management can assist in growing healthy trees.

Timothy Crothers

Plant Health Care Manager

West Coast Arborists, Inc.

Tim Crothers is the Plant Health Care Manager for West Coast Arborists, Inc. in Anaheim managing municipal tree pest control, fertilization, diagnostics, arborist reports and tree risk assessments. He's an I.S.A. Board Certified Master Arborist with utility and municipal specialties, holds a Qualified Applicator License, and is a Qualified Tree Risk Assessor. He has been with WCA since 2012 and prior to becoming the PHC manager last summer, he was the Northeast Los Angeles Area Manager and South Orange County Area Supervisor. He has 13 years of experience in the landscape maintenance and home construction industry performing new landscape installations. He holds a B.S. degree in Environmental Horticultural Science with a specialization in Landscape Design from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He recently helped the Street Tree Seminar committee complete their newly published third edition of Street Trees Recommended For Southern California.
