He is the President of Daigle & Associates, which has been representing lines in the irrigation and green Industry since 1988. Previous TLE Presentations2018-2012 - Wire Tracking & Electrical TroubleshootingThis class teaches technicians the general skills of troubleshooting an electrical irrigation system through the use of basic electrical equipment. It includes general instruction on the function and uses of a voltage ohmmeter and shows you how to use wire-tracking equipment to locate wire faults in the field. The class goes from testing the transformer of a controller to checking the ohms of a solenoid and all other functions of testing the irrigation electrical system. 2018-2017, 2017, 2015, 2012 - Master Valves Application, Maintenance and RepairStudents will learn to properly repair and service master valves in the field. Discussion of disassembling master valves, regulating master valves, and reassembling master valves. 2018-2015, 2012 - Backflow Application, Maintenance and RepairClass will discuss the proper techniques to repair and service backflows. Disassembling backflows, reassembling, and testing for proper function. This class will also discuss the intricacies of field-testing the pressure vacuum breakers, spill-resistant vacuum breakers, double check valve assemblies and reduced pressure principle backflow prevention assemblies. 2017 Backflow InstallationStudents will look at a blueprint detail of a backflow, build the backflow, install the backflow, and ensure it works properly. Students will gain an understanding of when to use various types of backflow, such as Double Check (DC), Pressure Vacuum Breakers (PVB), Anti-Siphon Vacuum Breaker (AVB), and Reduced Pressure (RP). 2017-2015 - Sprinkler & RetrofittingStudents will learn how to take an existing irrigation system and make it more water efficient through retrofitting. Will cover how to properly size nozzles, and adjust sprinkler heads. Includes instruction on Distribution uniformity, and precipitation rate. Hands-on lab also included. Will cover the benefits of Drip Irrigation Also covered: Drip System Components, Maintenance, Scheduling. 2016 - Backflow InstructionThis class provides hands on opportunity with the backflow devices. This class includes discussion with USC 10th Edition cross-connection book. Attendees will expand knowledge on the backflow devices and how to test them. 2016-2014 - Irrigation Scheduling (SOLD OUT, LB 2014)Learn how to calculate an irrigation base schedule from collected field data. Attendees will learn to build an irrigation schedule with consideration of plant factors, microclimate influences, system performance, root zone characteristics, and site scheduling limitations. Attendees will also learn how to implement, fine tune, and monitor the schedules for successful water management. 2014 – Irrigation Field HydraulicsThis course is a comprehensive class combining hydraulic principles and irrigation theory. The course is designed to give the technician a thorough understanding of irrigation hydraulics and the various reference materials. The course also includes basic calculations for pressure loss, velocity and the effect of elevation, and information on pipe and head layout, precipitation rates, zoning and irrigation scheduling. 2014-2013 - Irrigation Performance TestsAttendees will learn to conduct performance tests of sprinklers, bubblers, and drip stations. Data will be gathered to analyze and determine station net precipitation rates, distribution or emission uniformity, and runoff time. Further discussion will include soil water uniformity and hydraulic redistribution and their impacts on irrigation scheduling. 2012 – Pipe FittingThe course will cover pipe joining, pipe repair and maintenance on multiple pipe materials including steel, PVC and copper. Techniques using couplings, reducers, flanged adapters, repair clamps and various fittings for water and sewerage systems will also be covered. Applications cover a wide range of sizes and include above and below ground connections (meter pits, valve boxes, etc.). Types of seals and gaskets are discussed including pressure assisted hydraulic seals and mat-type gaskets with pressure ring sealing capabilities. A short overview of NSF and AWWA standards is also included. 2012-2011 - Backflow RepairThis introductory class is one of the 10 basic courses needed to become a certified irrigation repair technician. Attendees will learn the proper techniques to repair and service backflows. A hands-on demonstration will give examples of disassembling backflows, reassembling, and testing for proper function. 2011 – Tracking & ElectricalThis Introductory Class Is One Of The 10 Basic Courses Needed For The Certified Irrigation Repair Technician. The class teaches technicians the general skills of troubleshooting an electrical irrigation system through the use of basic electrical equipment. It includes general instruction on the function and uses of a voltage ohmmeter and shows you how to use wire-tracking equipment (example: 521) to locate wire faults in the field. The class goes from testing the transformer of a controller to checking the ohms of a solenoid and all other functions of testing the irrigation electrical system.
