As California’s population and temperature continue to grow, so does the likelihood of community-destroying wildfires. Join Douglas Kent, author of "Firescaping: Protecting Your Home with a Fire-Resistant Landscape," as he highlights the essential qualities of a protected property.
Kent will provide a highly visual presentation that focuses on roads, structures, defensible space, and plantings. With over 28 years of fire protection experience, Kent's presentation is set to be as educational as they are dynamic.
1. Prioritizing resources and time.
2. Articulating the importance of property maintenance.
3. Discussing the qualities that make a plant more or less flammable.
Mr. Kent has been working to create fire protected properties and communities since 1994. He has written the best-selling book on landscaping for fire protection (Firescaping) and has led educational efforts and landscape projects across California.
