Water Conservation Center Line Up Announced

Drought, Irrigation, and Best Practices

The Landscape Expo will be held this year in Anaheim, California, from November 16th to the 17th, and features a number of water related seminars, exhibitors, and even a panel with experts!

The Water Conservation Center is set to include five seminars and a panel titled, "Dealing with the Drought" for The Landscape Expo, Anaheim on November 16th and 17th. Crafted to aid the landscape industry in the West to combat harsh periods of drought and heat waves, the Water Conservation Center will feature dozens of exhibitors in addition to expert seminars.


On Wednesday, Novermber 16th attendees will be able to learn from horticulture researcher and educator with the University of CA Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) Janet Hartin seminar titled "Heat, Drought, and Pest Resistant Landscape Trees for Southern California." Hartin's session will include a discussion on how to select and care for landscape tree species that will withstand harsh urban conditions, heat islands, and drought. Janice Gould with Responsive Drip Irrigation, LLC, a US based company that is working out of more than 40 countries across the globe to develop and distribute disruptive irrigation technology that will lead the way for an agricultural transformation will then be speaking on "How Landscapes can Save our Cities."

Day two of the expo on November 17th, will host three more seminars with Donald Merhaut, P.h. D. with the University of California as an Extension Specialist for Nursery Production, will be presenting "Managing Landscapes During Heat Waves." In the afternoon, Adam Carr with Irvine Company will be speaking on landscape best practices for drought. Then, Tim Becker with the Theodore Payne foundation will teach "Irrigation Techniques for CA Native Plants."

Exhibitors cover several different areas of Water Conservation including Ewing Irrigation & Landscape Supply, Rain Bird, and Smith Pipe & Supply.
