Pest Control Seminars
Cooperative Extension Human-Wildlife Interactions Advisor, Niamh Quinn, PhD, on November 16th at 8 a.m. will teach attendees about identification of landscape pests, laws and regulations of rodenticide application, and rodenticide alternatives.

Sims Tree Health Specialists, ISA certified arborist, Kevin Sims will present "Common Tree Pests, Observing, Identifying, and Management" seminar that will go into the recognition of tree pests, the different types of pests and their biology, and the chemical, organic, and biological control of pests.

Licensed pesticide and regulations specialist, Geoff Gretchenson will be discussing how applying pesticides is a big responsibility, the different types of licenses/certificates, competency that distinguishes commercial applicators from private applicators, and the ability to enter a contract to apply restricted use pesticides. His seminar is set for November 17th at 8am.

Beatriz E Nobua Behrmann, PhD, is a University of California Cooperative Extension advisor for Orange and Los Angeles counties will be discussing how to identify some of the most damaging emerging tree pests in Southern California, what integrated pest management is and how to manage tree pests and how to use study cases to understand the pros and cons of different management decisions.

Join horticulture researcher and educator with University of CA Agriculture and Natural Resources, Janet Hartin on November 16th at 10 am to learn more about how to identify appropriate drought and pest-resistant tree species for Southern California and how low irrigation can go to be water wise.
