Landscape Expo, Anaheim Speaker Jose Mercado:

ISA certified arborist, WCISA certified tree worker, American Red Cross Certified Instructor, Altec certified aerial lift instructor, safety educator, and returning speaker at The Landscape Expo, Anaheim, Jose Mercado has recently been added to the seminar line up at the Landscape Expo, Anaheim on November 16th and 17th.

With over 38 years of experience, Mercado is the Founder and Executive Director of Hispanic Arborist Association where education on safety within the tree industry is paramount. The nonprofit has over 150 members that represent tree service and landscaping companies across Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties.

Mercado and Will Present Two Life Saving Seminars Each Day:

Mercado has been speaking at The Landscape Expo for years, but we are excited for the new location at the Anaheim Convention Center because we have partnered with Raymond Bucket Guys, Inc. (RBG) that will allow Mercado to present his aerial rescue seminar indoors using an electric lift.

 
Seminar #1 Aerial Rescue Seminar Description:
In this course, Mercado will go over aerial rescue procedures, inspections, calling 911, getting the rope into trees (or aerial lift), checking the victims, and maneuvering friction hitches down along with the victim.

Learning Objectives:
1. Aerial rescue Procedures.
2. How to get your rope into the trees.
3. Maneuvering friction hitches down along the victim.

Seminar #2 Tree Safety While Aloft Seminar Description:
In this course we will go over job site set up, aerial lift inspection, pre-job assessment, AI use, aerial lift rescue, fall protection, suspension trauma, groundsman safety, chipper safety, and climber safety.

Learning Objectives:
1. Aerial lift inspection
2. Aerial lift rescue
3. Groundsman safety
