701B
San Diego, Calif.
Stretching across a city block in downtown San Diego, 701B is a 24-story, 571,000-square-foot office building with striking architecture and highly sought-after amenities. The entrance of the building is marked with a sculptural shade trellis. This functional piece of art was inspired by the movement of a Manta Ray as it glides through the ocean. A dramatic 65-foot, high-glazing glass wall and calming water feature-the largest vertical water feature in the area-sets the scene behind this amazing sculpture. The design is inspiring, yet highly functional to shade the outdoor amenity from the sun during the day and reflect the custom lighting elements at night.
Tarbut V'Torah
Irvine, Calif.
The TVT (Tarbut V' Torah) campus is a focused environment that promotes interactive learning for both the indoor and outdoor spaces. With the addition of new MAKER + science, STEAM and Fitness buildings, the re-imagined campus exterior promotes the ability for learning to happen anywhere. Established in 1991, TVT is an existing 21.5-acre, K-12 community day school. This project expands on the original site, bringing the facilities and exterior spaces in-line with today's 21 century educational and instructional needs. TVT embraces a landscape of innovation while marrying two goals: using the outdoors as a seamless extension of the learning spaces and proudly telling a story that runs deep and is aligned with the educational goals of the community. The newly re-imagined campus exterior is a place that inspires, allows for reflection, provides opportunities for exploration, and shares the culture of Israeli people to new generations.
Towers at 2nd
San Jose, Calif.
San Jose is known as home to some of the most innovative technology companies in the world. To provide a unique alternative to the suburban corporate headquarters and incubator spaces common in the area, Towers at Second sought to reinvest in an existing two-tower, multistory project, focusing on integrating indoor/outdoor work environments and providing amenities including an amenity lounge, wellness center, collaboration space, amphitheater and work/respite lounges in a vibrant exterior space. An existing below street-level courtyard was underutilized, and dated, suffering from a lack of program, adjacencies and foot traffic. Revitalization focused on rebranding the entire complex concentrating on a distinctively planned exterior component-rare in an urban office environment.
